Somehow this looks like a Berlin artist to me, or am I wrong?
Well recognized! Strictly speaking, a newcomer from Westphalia, almost Rhineland, who has been living in Berlin since 1980 and in the notorious Kreuzberg neighborhood for almost that long. He also likes to talk about his years in New York, sometime in the nineties. And the many trips…
Is he a photographer?
The subject of photography has probably always interested him. Over time, however, he became more and more interested in upgrading some of his photos by concentrating on certain image sections and not just changing the color of them on the PC. At first he printed them on paper, until he became more and more enthusiastic about all imaginable and printable materials: acrylic, aluminium, ceramics, rubber and much more…
Something like: motif complements medium and vice versa?
Maybe also due to his architecture studies or his master’s degree in art history in Berlin!? He’s obviously had an affinity for art for a long time… Web design was added later, by the way. So it’s not really surprising that he got more and more involved with digital art…
Does he have a focus when choosing a motif?
His spectrum is quite broad! The biggest challenge for him, however, are profane things and motifs that are usually hardly noticed and are then processed by him in such a way that you practically HAVE to look at them. This principle is clearly recognizable in his small series „Profanes“.
He also does street art!?
He doesn’t, he likes street art! When he’s out and about, he’s always taking photos of street art that he likes. And his collection is now really something to be proud of. According to his own statement, he finds the best things in his Kreuzberg neighborhood. His favorite motifs are now available as magnetic key boards.
Interesting! I bet there is still a lot to expect!?
For sure! The next project is already in progress…
